This particular type of sludge is what I like to call "slow Grind", because to me it sounds like if you took your favorite grindcore/deathgrind/goregrind band and slowed it down to about 50 BPM, this is what it would sound like.
A very good split 12". Primitive Man play their harrowing brand of blackened crust-sludge, which is always rad, while Fister is a bit more doomy/sludgy hardcore with some cool post-rock aspects.

It would be easy to read the reviews of this gem and trick yourself into thinking it was an exercise in extremity. But despite the near unrelenting hammering quality of the six tracks on offer, the songwriting is quality. An expertly weaved arrangement of grindcore, death metal (both old school and latterday tropes) and hardcore. I'm positive that anyone with even a passing interest in heavy music will find something to appreciate here. Ben Harris
